Sun-burnt Lonestar on a Snowy Day

Just when it was safe to ride the bicycle down the driveway to the pavement out on the road, look what we woke up to this morning.

Someone was happy.

Someone wasn't.

Quick back inside it's still snowing!!!

On to sunnier things!  Here is my latest wall hanging that I finished up Monday night.

Sun-burnt Lonestar 2012

I am definitely a fan of the Lonestar, I love thinking up all sorts of combinations.

I'm really pleased with the effect of the centre stripe.

While I have you, check out the pretty batiks I got for my birthday!!!!!

My daughter thought the colours (the green especially) felt like the Hunger Games book.  The first book in the trilogy to be specific.  After mentioning it to others, I have been challenged to create a quilt inspired by the Hunger Games book.

One problem, I'm the only one in my household not to read the book yet.  I've only seen the movie (and yes, cried several times).  So second challenge, read the book LOL.

I'm not sure if it's something I can create...but I'm going to try.  Remember, it only has to be inspired by the feelings provoked...how hard can that be?

Quilt lots, stay warm and have fun!

Sorry about the return to winter! You must read the books. I recently went through all three in a week when I put my back out. Still have to see the movie. I LOVE your lonestar. I have yet to make one, but one day I will!

Get a comfy chair and a cup of tea because the whole Hunger Games Trilogy was one of those ones I couldn't put down! Enjoy! Can't wait to see the quilt.
