Table Runner Finish and a GIVEAWAY!!
I finally made a table runner just for me!! Above is my "Spicy Spiral" by School House Quilts. What drew me to this pattern, other then of course the curviness, was that I got to use (buy) a new ruler. It is a 10 degree wedge ruler and after the initial anxiety it was quite easy to use. I started with a dark batik in brown and green, blending lighter to a light tan, I wanted to get to my bright coloured pink along the far edge so picked up some of the oranges and pinks on my way.
It is a large runner, it's currently on our coffee table and takes up most of it, fortunately my coffee table is a thick wooden oval so it pairs nicely with it.
So what do you think? Would you like to make one of your own? All you need is 8 fat quarters, either a 9 or 10 degree ruler...and what else? Oh yes, this pattern! How about if you get the first two things and I'll send you the pattern?
Just leave a comment on this post (make sure I can find you!!) telling me what your favourite colour is (batik or regular quilting cotton) and on Friday, April 15th I will pick a random winner.
*Please know that you will need to feel comfortable with your sewing experience for this pattern, however, if you are not a fan of binding you will love this one as it's an inside out piece...no binding.

PS: before you ask, yes, that is snow on the ground beside our deck...yes it is Spring in the Yukon and that means we still have lots of snow!
